Registration is done by Troop only using the on-line registration system. Registration is required for Scouts taking merit badge classes, Scouts taking rank advancement classes, adults taking training classes, and for lunch. Registration opens January 27th and closes March 2nd. Troops who have provided merit badge counselors may register one week early beginning on January 20th. Classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis; Troops may waitlist a Scout or adult if a class is full. Walk-in registration on the day of the Merit Badge College can be done on a space available basis. Classes have a minimum size of five people and a maximum size; see Class List.
Classes: The Merit Badge College is being held at Benjamin Franklin Middle School, 225 Middle School Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Troop check-in begins at 7:45am, opening ceremonies are at 8:45am, and classes run from 9:00am to 4:10pm. Classes will be conducted in either 1.5 hour or 3.0 hour sessions each Saturday. Attendance is required on both Saturdays for merit badge and rank advancement classes, and either Saturday for adult classes.
An adult leader from each Troop must remain at the Merit Badge College and be responsible for their Scouts. All adults at the Merit Badge College will be asked to assist counselors in their classes. Adults may choose to take adult training; see Class List.
Scouts may choose to take merit badge classes. Only Scouts who complete all merit badge requirements as officially listed at www.meritbadge.org, as determined by the counselor, will have their Blue Card signed as completed; see Class List.
Scouts may choose to take rank advancement classes; see Class List.
Lunch, consisting of 2 slices of pizza, chips, and a drink, will be available for $5.00.
$12.00 per Boy Scout. Some merit badges require an additional fee; see Class List Class List.

Some merit badges require prerequisite work by the Scout prior to the first Saturday; see Class List. Homework may be assigned by some counselors for completion prior to the second Saturday.
